THE WHITWORTH FAMILY

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass... it's about learning to dance in the rain.

Pumpkin Land Playgroup

This last week we had a fun adventure with our Playgroup friends.  Since last year's Pumpkinland outing was such a hit, we decided to invite the husbands and have it in the evening so we could enjoy the October festivities with all the families.  We started by going to Pumpkinland in Orem, then met back at our place and had a BBQ, pinata and sugar cookie decorating.  It was a little kaotic with kids running everywhere, but it was really fun and I think the guys enjoyed being able to hang out together too (for some "man time" you know).  Here are some pics from the Night-0-Pumpkin-Fun.

Nora helped me make some sugar cookies beforehand so we could have them ready to decorate with all her playgroup buddies after dinner.

Nora made these cookies all by herself.  She loves to cook!

Waiting for the rest of the kids to arrive at Pumpkinland.  All the kids are dressed in costume because we got a $1 off to get.  Anything to save a buck right?

Getting lost in the corn maze.  This year they had a secret room in the maze with "magic beans" that you could get a prize afterward with it.  The kids loved it!

Say Cheese!

Me and Strat hangin' out watching all the kids play... He looks so bored, as I'm sure he was.  I had to carry all 35 lbs. of him in the sling the whole time since he's not walking yet.  Maybe this was his incentive to finally start?

The bounce houses....Nora's favorite part of all Pumpkinland!

Once we got home we hung up the Pinata and let all the kids get a crack at it.  You can't tell, but the Pinata is a Frankentein face on the other side.  Nora and I made it :)

When Stratton saw what all the kids were doing, he squealed and begged to let him have a try.  He was in Pinata Heaven bangin' on that thing!

FINALLY got the thing to open.  Dave had to make a few "incisions" on Mr. Frankentein to help him open up.  But the kids went crazy gathering up all their goodies.

If the kids didn't get enough goodies and sugar from the Pinata, we decorated cookies next.  Isn't Halloween the best?

Some of the playgroup Mommies gabbin' like we do best... Because we all know that Playgroup clearly isn't for the kids.  Let's face it -- it's Mommy Sanity Time.  Thanks girls for being part of such a fun group!
