We went to our follow-up appointment this morning with Nora's Opthamologist. He said after meeting with the best world renown surgeons from all over at his conference last month, they are all in favor of doing NOTHING!
There is no surgery or procedure out there (yet) that will guarantee fixing her eyes without further damaging what little vision she has. All options they brainstormed to eliminate her macular folds (cutting out, pressing flat, peeling away, etc.) would create scar tissue on her retina that would probably make her vision worse in the long run. So, he recommended ways to work with what we have, like getting reading materials for her in larger fonts, getting a specialized computer or at least keyboard with larger letters, getting her a magnifying glass for reading and seeing small things and then of course to make sure she gets visional disability at school once she starts. Her vision is 20/400 WITH her glasses. People are considered legally blind at 20/200, so Nora has an interesting road ahead of her. We as her parents and even Dr. Abrams admitted we felt a little helpless of what to do further. What we can do is hope that with our technology ever improving, something might come up to try. Our second hope is that her vision might still improve a bit as she grows, instead of the opposite... that's all we can do right now is hope....and pray of course.

Check with the school district. Call Melanie. She works at the district office so she would know for sure. Text me for her number. Kids can be tested and qualify for services after the age of 3, so she might be able to get vision services now. (I'm not very familiar with vision, but one of the kids in my class had vision services- the vision girl that helped him was AWESOME! Anyway, I would think you could get some support now rather than waiting until she is in school.)
I am hopeful too, Heather. And Nora is certainly a little beauty. Let's just pray her eyes get better as she gets older.

Nora is such a cutie! I remember the first day she got her glasses and how happy she was that she could FINALLY see. In fact it's hard to remember her without them because they just seem such a big part of her life.
We will keep her in our prayers and hope that something in the future can help her.

What a beautiful little girl! We have been keeping her in our prayers and we'll make sure to fast for her next month as well. I love that little girl.
